The Fear We Don’t Talk About
If you’ve ever laid awake at night worrying about tomorrow, you’re not alone.
Anxiety about your finances, relationships, health, and the unknown weighs heavy on many hearts — especially in times like these. The world feels unstable. Bills are piling up. News headlines scream fear. And silently, your faith wavers.
But what if peace isn’t about circumstances changing — but about what happens inside us in spite of them?
In this blog post, I’ll show you:
- Practical, 5 God-centered ways to rediscover peace
- My own personal story of overcoming anxiety and fear through faith
Let’s begin this reading journey together with us:
Why Finding Peace Feels So Hard Right Now
It’s no secret that peace seems like a rare thing today. With social media feeding our fears, uncertainty about the future, increasing screen time, declining attention spans, and the constant comparison game — it’s no wonder so many of us feel anxious.
Recent surveys show anxiety rates have doubled globally since 2020. And for many Christians, this creates a silent spiritual battle between trusting God and fighting daily fear.
But what if peace was never meant to come from perfect circumstances?
You Can Relate with My Story: How I Found Peace in My Tough Times
In 2010, I lost my job. Bills stacked up. Debt collectors called daily. Over 100 job applications sent — not a single yes. I reached a breaking point, staring at my reflection wondering, “What did I do to deserve this?”
But in my darkest hour, something shifted. I turned off the noise. I opened my Bible. I prayed honest, desperate prayers. And slowly, God’s peace — not the world’s peace — started to fill the gaps fear had created.
5 God-Centered Ways to Find Peace in Uncertain Times
1️. Start Your Day in the Word, Not the World
Before you scroll Instagram or check the news, open your Bible. Do morning prayer. Let God’s promises shape your mindset before the world does.
2️. Pray Honest, Bold Prayers
God doesn’t need pretty, polished prayers. He desires honest hearts. Like David, pour out your frustrations and fears. Then boldly ask for peace and clarity.
3. Practice Gratitude Daily
No matter the storm, there’s always something to thank God for. Gratitude shifts your focus from what’s missing to what’s already here.
4. Align Your Mind with Scripture, Not Circumstances
When anxious thoughts come, counter them with the Word.
“God is my refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1
Speak it. Believe it. Declare it.
5. Guard Your Relationships
Surround yourself with people who build your faith, not your fear. In uncertain seasons, you need voices of encouragement and truth.
