Ever feel like you’re stuck in the middle of life’s waiting room as you seek that opportunity to move forward? You feel like you are in limbo
You wake up, go through the motions, but deep down, you sense something’s missing.
For many, anxieties start creeping and time starts to become more important. Thoughts permeate your mind about career, health, retirement, debt and whether you will have enough resources to survive and thrive… Your uncertainty about your future leads you to start panicking and you decide to take matters into your own hands.
It’s your future right? You should be the captain of your own destiny….
If you have felt this way, you’re not alone, my friend
I’ve been there to help you — overwhelmed, restless, and desperate for clarity. And what I’ve learned is this: feeling stuck isn’t a sign of failure, it’s often the start of a divine reset.
In today’s Blog Post, I want to share 6 simple, Bible-based steps you can take when life feels stalled and your heart longs for direction.
Why Even Faithful People Feel Stuck Sometimes
Let’s be honest — even the strongest believers hit seasons where they feel lost, anxious, or uncertain about what’s next in life.
It might be a job that drains you, a relationship that feels stuck, finances that won’t stretch
The good news? God hasn’t forgotten you. These seasons are part of the journey, not the end of it.
6 Biblical Steps to Move Forward When You Feel Stuck
Step 1: Be honest with yourself
The first step to moving forward is getting honest with yourself and with God. Don’t sugarcoat it. Call it what it is — fear, frustration, confusion. God can handle your honesty.
Bible Verse:
“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.” — Psalm 139:23
Action Step for you:
Grab a journal. Write down what’s weighing you down. Lay it before God.
Step 2: Pray for Clarity, Not Just Quick Answers
It’s tempting to beg God for immediate solutions, but what you need most is clarity about your next faithful step. Ask Him to quiet the noise and guide your heart.
Bible Verse:
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God… and it will be given to him.” — James 1:5
Action:
In your next prayer, ask: “God, what do You want me to see right now?”
Step 3: Reflect on Past Victories
Sometimes the enemy makes you forget just how many battles you’ve already won with God by your side. Remember those moments — they are proof He’s not finished with you yet.
Bible Verse:
“Forget not all His benefits — who forgives, heals, and redeems your life from destruction.” — Psalm 103:2-4
Action:
List 3 times God showed up for you when you least expected it.
Step 4: Seek Godly Counsel
You don’t have to figure it out alone. God often speaks through the wise voices He places around us. Seek out mentors, pastors, or trusted friends rooted in faith.
Bible Verse:
“Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.” — Proverbs 15:22
Action:
Text or call one person today and ask for prayer or advice.
Step 5: Take One Small Step in Faith
You don’t need the whole map to take the next step. Faith isn’t knowing the destination, it’s trusting the Guide. Start where you are with what you have.
Bible Verse:
“We walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7
Action:
Write down one small action you can take today — send that email, pray about that idea, rest if you need to.
Step 6: Trust God’s Timing and Release Control
This might be the hardest, but it’s the most freeing. God’s timing is perfect — even when it feels painfully slow. Rest in knowing He’s preparing you, not punishing you.
Bible Verse:
“Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.” — Habakkuk 2:3
Action:
Say this out loud: “God, I trust You with what’s next.”
Friend, being stuck isn’t the end of your story — it’s a chapter, a pause, a space where God prepares you for what’s ahead.
You’re not forgotten. You’re being refocused.
Take one of these steps today and watch how God starts to move in the quiet, behind the scenes, aligning things in your favour.
