About - Walric Peddie

Early life

Walric grew up in Kingston Jamaica. He was raised as an only child to hard-working lower middle class parents. He was no stranger to hard work and had a determination to succeed. He saw how hard his parents had to work and the sacrifices they made especially his mother to provide for the family. A woman of unwavering faith who was not only selfless but over the years he saw her growth in faith and became a pillar of support and strength for him.

At Calabar High School, Walric’s leadership skills began to emerge. He actively participated in clubs, sports, and even ran for Head Boy. But it was his deep fascination with storytelling and the arts that truly set him apart. Walric has a strong interest in film and arts. Inspired by film and television, he found himself drawn to acting, eventually landing a role in the Jamaican TV series Royal Palm Estate.

Despite his passion for performance, Walric pursued academics, earning a Bachelor’s degree in History with a minor in Political Science at the University of the West Indies, Mona. subsequently pursued a Master’s degree in International Relations, however, life had its lessons in store. He faced setbacks, moments of uncertainty, and the crushing weight of financial struggles. This storm of this crisis birthed a profound and irreversible change within Walric

Challenges

In 2010, crisis came fast and furious and took the form joblessness, debt, anxiety, hopelessness, self doubt and failure. A broken young man who uttered the words to his mother, “What did I do to deserve this?

But in his hardest moment, something changed. Instead of chasing success the world’s way, he turned to God. Through prayer and faith, he started over—not just in his career but in his purpose. What felt like the end was really a new beginning.

Finding Purpose

Walric peddie discovered that purpose isn’t a destination—it’s a journey. A journey of trusting God, seeking His guidance, and letting Him lead. It wasn’t easy. There were doubts, temptations, and moments of discouragement. But with faith, he kept going.

As he walked this path, he found joy in doing what he loved—acting, inspiring others, and sharing his story. The more he aligned his life with God’s plan, the more doors opened. He wrote Compass: Understanding Your Purpose & Fueling Your Passion to help others do the same—to shift from fear to faith, from confusion to clarity.

Author Journey

For years it was on my heart to tell this story, but I was disobedient and self-sabotaged my efforts with words such as “I can’t write well enough” or “why would someone want to buy my book” or “I don’t even know where to start, so why bother”. It was not until 2024 when I was on a video call with my wife Kamika Peddie and her colleague who was encouraging her to start writing a book as she is also a Christian content creator on YouTube. It was then, in the middle of the conversation, I heard a voice in my head say “It is time”: I got up, excused myself, and went straight to my laptop and I started typing, and the thoughts just started flowing

Personal Life

Now during tough times, Walric leans on his faith, family and fitness. Both Kamika and Walric started Kamric Medical Care, Aesthetics a business that offers minimally invasive cosmetic and wellness services — but more than that, they built a life grounded in faith, love, as they continue to seek God’s plan and purpose for their lives.

Today, Walric and Kamika are proud parents to their two beautiful children, Nia and Noah. For Walric, family is everything. His journey taught him that true success isn’t about wealth or fame — it’s about the love you give, the lives you touch, and the legacy you leave behind.

Walric’s story isn’t just about overcoming hard times — it’s a powerful reminder that with God, , there’s always a way forward. And no matter how far life takes you, there’s always a road that leads back to Him.
